What does “No Monthly Conversion Limits” mean?

UseShorts does not limit how many videos you can process with a monthly conversion allowance or bundle of AI minutes.

UseShorts works with third-party services including OpenAI and Deepgram. You connect your own API keys, so provider usage is billed separately from your UseShorts license.

AI Clip Discovery — OpenAI

Estimated cost: about US$0.01 to analyze a typical 60-minute video transcript using a low-cost model. Actual cost varies by model, transcript length and usage.

Premium Captions — Deepgram

Estimated cost: about US$0.01 per one-minute clip.

New Deepgram accounts receive US$200 in signup credit. At approximately US$0.01 per one-minute clip, that is enough for roughly 20,000 one-minute Premium Caption clips.

For example, captioning ten 1-minute clips would cost roughly US$0.10 once usage is being charged at that estimated rate.

Actual usage, pricing and credit eligibility depend on Deepgram.

Your UseShorts license itself has no monthly conversion cap. OpenAI and Deepgram charges are separate, so you control the providers you use and what you spend.

Does UseShorts upload my videos to the cloud?

Cloud AI clip discovery sends transcript text and timestamps to your selected AI provider for analysis. It does not require sending the full source video to that provider.

Premium captions send audio from the selected clip to Deepgram for transcription and caption timing. Eligible sponsored-trial processing may route that audio through the UseShorts service.

How does UseShorts find the best moments in a long video?

UseShorts analyzes the video's transcript with a supported cloud AI provider to identify moments that are likely to work well as standalone short-form clips.

It looks for strong openings, useful or interesting ideas, self-contained segments and natural clip boundaries, then returns suggested moments with timestamps and rankings so you can quickly review the strongest candidates.

You remain in control of the final result. UseShorts suggests the clips; you decide what to keep, adjust and export.

Different AI providers and models can produce different results, so UseShorts is designed to let you choose from the supported AI options available in the app.

What system requirements are recommended for UseShorts?

UseShorts is designed for modern Windows PCs and Apple Silicon Macs. A dedicated GPU is not required, although faster hardware can reduce video processing and export time.

Windows: Windows 10/11 64-bit with a modern Intel or AMD processor.

Mac: Apple Silicon M1 or newer.

16 GB of memory is recommended for comfortable video processing, especially with longer or higher-resolution source videos. Keep at least 10 GB of free storage available for temporary processing, previews and exports, with additional space for your source videos and finished clips.

Faster processors and SSD storage can improve video processing, preview and export performance.

What caption styles does UseShorts support?

UseShorts supports editable Static captions and Current Word captions.

Static captions display the caption text without highlighting each spoken word.

Both styles can be edited and styled before export.
